New Balance continues to bolster its MADE range with the official launch of its new 990v5 model, updating the 1982 original with modernized elements and offering the silhouette in a monochromatic grey and “Castlerock” color scheme. This edition carries over components from the brand’s 990v4 line, while incorporating enhanced technical details for a sleeker design and finish.
Constructed in premium pig suede and mesh along the upper, the 990v5 gets boosted with a TPU power strap and Ortholite insert for optimal cushioning. Meanwhile, refreshed New Balance branding brings in newness all its own, including renovated emblems on the tongue and foxing of the footwear that are accentuated with 360 reflectivity. White laces and a matching outsole give it a clean and simple touch, while an ENCAP sole finishes it off.
The 990v5 is priced at $175 USD and available now at New Balance’s webstore. Expect it to also release in navy and black in the near future.
