XL Recordings Adds Big & Bold Embroidery to maharishi's Military-Inspired Staples
Remaking the label’s signature bomber jacket.
maharishi has teamed up with the British independent record label XL Recordings for a Spring/Summer 2019 capsule collection. Releasing a selection of T-shirts and outwear offerings, the partnership sees a blend of bold graphics contrast maharishi’s iconic military-inspired aesthetic in a collection shot in one of XL Recordings’ original in-house studios.
XL Recordings – the home of The XX, Jack White, Vampire Weekend and Kaytranada — has adorned the collection of flight jackets, vests and T-shirts with printed and embroidered XL logos, as well as the slogans “PAY CLOSE ATTENTION / THE TRUTH IS ONE.”
The flight jackets, which are available in olive, orange and white, are constructed from crushed Italian-made nylon and are interwoven with metallic-finished fibers, giving the jackets an iridescent effect under changing lighting conditions. The jackets are finished with embroidered branding and a water repellent coating. The utility vests are constructed from similar, lightweight flight nylon inspired by MA-1 jackets, and again come in the collection’s trio of military-influenced colorways featuring rear co-branded embroidery.
Rounding off the collection are a trio of organic cotton T-shirts available in white, black and orange. The T-shirts see graphics on the front and back, featuring the slogans across the chest and the bold XL Recordings logo on the rear.
The XL Recordings x maharishi collection will release exclusively at END. Clothing and maharishi’s online store, London flagship and New York location at 11 AM on April 26.
