Original Story (02/25/19): To celebrate Game of Throne‘s eighth and final season, cookie purveyor Oreo is launching a new line of “chocolate sandwich cookies” inspired by HBO‘s hit fantasy series.
Officially announced via Oreo’s Instagram page, the upcoming cookie was teased with a short video and the caption, “Cookies are coming,” a play on the show’s infectious “Winter is coming” tagline.
According to Instagram accounts CandyHunting and TheJunkFoodAisle, the Oreos won’t just take on its usual look, they will be redesigned and come in special packaging. And on another note, these Game of Thrones Oreos won’t be exclusively sold, therefore fans from across the country should be able to get their hands on them.
So far no other details have been shared including when fans can expect these cookies to release, however they are expected to drop ahead of the fantasy drama’s April 14 return.
This isn’t the first time GoT has joined forces with the food and beverages industry, late last year Johnnie Walker teamed up with the series to produce “White Walker” whisky.
