John Elliott Takes Us Behind The Scenes of Running a Successful Label
With a first look at his new flagship.
With an initial investment of only $30,000 USD and having access to just a few materials (denim, jersey and French terry) California-native John Elliott turned his high school dream of having his own fashion line into a reality. His inaugural collection launched in 2012, and swiftly piqued the interest of the industry for its refreshing approach to menswear basics with a street lean. Success thrusted Elliott into a frenetic gait that hasn’t slowed down since. With each season, he continues to define his creative prowess and push pass the limitations of his unconventional training.
So far, 2019 has shown no signs of slowing down for Elliott. With his first retail location opening in LA on the horizon, he looks to technology to find efficiencies in his hectic day-to-day. His most recent tool: Bose‘s audio enabled sunglasses. Equipped with voice control technology and the ability to take calls, the frames function as wireless headphones, helping to tether Elliott to the real world by granting him freedom from his screen. For Elliott and his trusted team, it allows for putting more focus on thoughtfully engineering garments with an authentic design language.
