After heading to Dior’s Pre-Fall 2019 Hong Kong pop-up, we take a closer look at the collaborative Hajime Sorayama sneakers. After launching online in late April, the shoes swiftly sold out of Dior’s web store, proving the appeal of the lavish high-tops.
The newest iteration of Dior‘s soon-to-be classic B23 sneaker, the Sorayama-designed kicks retain the silhouette’s familiar white rubber midsole, complete with “patchwork” black foxing stripe section and embedded Dior logo on the lateral side. Translucent polyurethane panels reinforce the shoe and also allow for a peek at the Oblique-branded canvas below, executed in dark navy tones.
Offsetting the clean white laces, toecap, midsole and pulltab, the Oblique canvas uppers are emblazoned with Sorayama’s delicate cherry blossoms and a fierce robotic Tyrannosaurus. The rich illustrations are given full-color renderings, appropriately complemented by metal eyelets to keep in line with Sorayama’s retro-futuristic inclinations.
Take a closer look at the covetable kicks above and view the Sorayama-designed B23 sneaker on Dior’s site and boutiques, currently available for $1,050 USD. Refresh your memory of Pre-Fall 2019 runway via the imagery below.
