Caliroots Clashes Prints From Dickies, Vans, Stussy and More for SS19 Editorial
“City Beach Bums” with lounge chairs and sandals.
“Life’s A Beach” in Caliroots’ latest editorial, in which the brand showcases its Spring/Summer 2019 selection through the lens of a “city beach bum.” The campaign features a colorful take on clashing prints and outfit layering, with the spotlight on labels such as Dickies, Vans, Stussy and more.
Cargo pants and board shorts reinforce the relaxed sensibility across a mix of striped, tie-dye and plaid styles. Breezy button-downs are also prominent in the looks, adding a range of patterns through graphics like the all-over pineapples on Needles’ “Cowboy Shirt” and the Bob Marley portraits plastered across Wacko Maria’s “Hawaiian” top. Meanwhile, bandana and palm leaf prints offer a more subdued take.
The eccentricities continue in the accessories, which include Drole de Monsieur’s “Marbled” bucket hat, Stussy’s ombré dip-dye socks and studded sunglasses by Versace. Naturally, sandals helm up the beachy footwear, which spans Birkenstock’s signature Arizonas, as well as bright orange slides from Heron Preston, Suicoke’s velcro-strapped shoes and Vans’ Classic Slip-On. For a well-rounded day on the seaside, Caliroots even threw in Carhartt’s “Land Rover Chair” as a cozy lounging option.
