Beck Announces New 'Hyperspace' LP & Drops Pharrell-Assisted Single "Raw Lightning"
The 14th studio album from the prolific artist.
Long-time artist Beck has just announced his 14th studio album, entitled Hyperspace. The latest album follows his Grammy-winning Colors from 2017, which marked the third self-released album from the prolific artist. Beck and his team failed to provide the official release date for the new album, only stating that it would be at an “undetermined point in the space-time continuum.” The off-kilter artist has always managed to keep a sense of mystery surrounding his self-released records, yet somehow always manages to deliver his upcoming projects within months of first single’s release. With that in mind, Beck has teamed up with the equally iconic Pharrell Williams for the album’s lead single “Saw Lightning.”
Pharrell provided a variety of songwriting and production assistance on the latest record, offering up various instrumentation contributions on the drums and keyboards, also providing the muted and mumbling vocals in the backdrop of the track. Overall the new cut sees a variety of genre-bending sound cues, offering up a variety of electronic production atop the experimental rock and pop base.
