adidas has released a new pack dedicated to the historic rivalry between Liverpool’s two football teams. Dubbed “Merseyside,” the capsule focuses on the archival Trimm Trab silhouette due to its cultural significance in the city. The sneaker became a local favorite with the “casual” scene, leading to one local store owner to head to Europe to buy up every pair he could find. Over time, the word trab even became local slang for sneakers.
In this pack, adidas have constructed the sneaker from luxurious nubuck, which is offset by gold foil Trimm Trab branding. Other features include white leather overlays and heel tab, as well as the coordinates 53⁰ 26’ 07.5”N 2⁰ 57’39.1”W embossed on the collar lining — a reference to the middle of Stanley Park, which sits between the Liverpool and Everton stadiums. The two colorways, bright red and bright blue, also nod to the two football teams.
The adidas Trimm Trab “Merseyside” pack is set to release on April 13, and will be available at retailers including Hanon.
