Diving into the archives, printings.jp delivers a set of two books that capture some of the world’s best Helmut Lang collections and pieces, provided by fans of the Austrian-born designer. Each piece was meticulously styled and photographed over several months to showcase the archive pieces at their best.
Pieces from Helmut Lang’s archive are often difficult to find, after the legendary designer destroyed over 6,000 items in 2011. These materials were then used to create sculptures for his 2011 “Make It Hard” exhibition.
Helmut Lang’s 1986-2005 is available on the printings.jp website with shipping starting from mid-April with a price tag of ¥33,000 JPY (approx. $295 USD). It will also release at Dover Street Market Ginza on April 6, followed by T-Site Daikanyama and Laila Tokio on April 7. Over the course of several months, printings.jp will also hold special events at 10 Corso Como Seoul, Biotop, Laila Tokio, Nordstrom and The Broken Arm in celebration of the book release.
In other news, Beams has re-released its Live Small/Live Modern book, which is available to purchase now.
