East Oakland's ymtk Debuts Video for DTB-Produced "Wish Come True"
The lead single in support of his upcoming album.
On April 12, Bay Area-bred singer-songwriter ymtk is planning on dropping a new full-length studio project known as What You Wish For. Made up of 9 new tracks, What You Wish For features collaborations with Rexx Life Raj, GuapDad4000 and Gemaine, and finds fast-rising, multi-talented beatsmith DTB stepping in to serve as the LP’s primary producer. To introduce the album’s sonic direction and further support its debut, ymtk is serving up the official music video for its lead single, “Wish Come True.”
“With the ‘Wish Come True’ visual we (Adrian Per & I) just wanted to have fun & play off the whole “fomo” culture that social media has created,” ymtk explains to us. “How many times have you been scrolling down your timeline or went story surfing & thought ‘damn I wish I was there.’ What if you saw somebody or somewhere hella fun & could just teleport, that would be mainy. In this video the girls are chilling on their phones and wish they could kick it with me and my friends… It comes true. The project What You Wish For continues the ‘wish’ theme by taking a short journey through the different stages a guy may go through when he first meets a girl & starts to fall for her. Being in love is something everybody wishes for but not everybody is ready for. Be careful … what you wish for.”
