Nike Cortez Honors Los Angeles With New Colorway Releases
LA sports team vibes.
The Nike Cortez sneaker has been a historic part of footwear culture since its debut in 1972, especially in Los Angeles. The casual low cut model has also seen four collaborative releases alongside Compton’s own Kendrick Lamar – falling under his Kung Fu Kenny moniker. The silhouette will soon pay homage to LA once more with a new duo of colorways. The first choice adds a black upper with contrasting white on its sole unit and metallic silver on each side’s Swoosh – a possible nod to the LA Kings. The latter sees an LA Dodgers-like color scheme with a deep royal blue base joined by white Swooshes on the lateral and medial sides. Lastly, both editions apply “Los Angeles” logos on each heel in purple and red, respectively.
Each Nike Cortez “Los Angeles” iteration will release on April 1 for $100 USD each at select Nike Sportswear stockists and Nike.com.
Swoosh fans can also take a look at the forthcoming Nike Air Foamposite One “Tiger Stripes.”
