Sir David Attenborough's Voice Stars in New Netflix Docuseries 'Our Planet'
Salma Hayek and Penélope Cruz also join as narrators.
After it was announced late last year that Sir David Attenborough was recruited to narrate Netflix‘s latest original docuseries Our Planet, the streaming giant has finally shared the project’s first full-length trailer.
The new stunning nature series from Planet Earth and Blue Planet creator Alastair Fothergill will take viewers across every corner of the world, hitting all seven continents and each of its monstrous oceans. Taking over four-years to document, the project enlisted the talents of over 600 crew members who navigate 50 different countries. Along with Attenborough narrating the English version, the docuseries will also feature voice-overs from Penélope Cruz for Spain and Salma Hayek for Latin America.
An official release from Netflix states:
“In the first episode, “One Planet,” viewers will travel from the Brazilian rainforest to Norway’s Svalbard archipelago, discovering how each fragile habitat is connected and why they are all essential for life to thrive on this planet. Subsequent episodes capture Earth’s key biomes, or habitats: the icy frozen worlds, jungles, coastal seas, deserts and grasslands, high seas, freshwater regions and forests. Thanks to an extensive team that includes some of the world’s best wildlife cinematographers, researchers and scientists — and the latest in 4K camera technology — each episode features several stunning sequences that have never been filmed before.”
Filmed entirely in 4K, look for Our Planet to land on Netflix April 5. For more entertainment news, here’s everything coming to and leaving Netflix in April 2019.
