Potentially teasing a battle royale game mode.
Get ready for the latest installment in mobile gaming – Activision and Tencent have just delivered the announcement trailer and surrounding details for its latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Mobile.
The newly-announced game will be able to be enjoyed during your commute, taking the form of a standalone first-person, free-to-play shooter that will feature nostalgic maps like Nuketown and Crash. The game will feature a variety of the franchise’s favorite weapons, killstreaks, and characters, taken from the renown Black Ops and Modern Warfare series. Even so, the last scene of the trailer (which is located above), reveals that the companies might be heading into Battle Royale territory.
While no release date has been confirmed, Activision and Tencent have noted that they’ll be releasing beta versions of the game to individuals who pre-register on the game’s web site or via Google Play. Call of Duty: Mobile is expected to be available via the iOS App Store once the official launch occurs.
