A$AP Nast & Converse's Spring 2019 Collab Delivers New Tees, Sneakers & More

Earlier this week, A$AP Nast finally revealed plans to release his long-awaited Converse collaboration on Friday, March 22, concluding months of teasing, anticipation and rumors. Now, thanks to a newly-debuted lookbook, we’re receiving a complete look at A$AP Nast and Converse’s upcoming collaborative range.
More than just sneakers, A$AP Nast and Converse’s joint collection delivers striking contemporary takes on popular staple items, such as sweatpants, t-shirts and sweatshirts. To bring the lineup to life, a handful of models headed out to a forest to show off its accessible array of graphic goods. For colorways, Nast and Converse went for Vintage Heather Grey, Brown, Lemonade, Beechnut and other tones; the clothes were manufactured using Legacy French Terry, Cotton Jersey and other premium fabrics. As we previously noted, the crown jewels of the aforementioned collaboration come in the form of an orange Jack Purcell sneaker and a green iteration of the same silhouette.
The artistic motivations behind Nast’s collaborative efforts with Converse are rooted in the multi-talented A$AP Mob cohort’s lifelong devotion to the Chuck Taylor sneaker, which he fondly remembers wearing as a young kid growing up in Harlem and seeing on the feet of his neighborhood’s most stylish and creative denizens. For this new release, Nast wanted to honor those memories and driving forces, as well as showcase his appreciation for the outdoors and “utilitarian” gear. “The silhouette is functional, durable. It’s intriguing,” Nast shares. “I wanted to craft a style that me and my team could wear every day, whatever way we like.” For this particular spin on the Jack Purcell Mid, Converse footwear designer Matt Sleep was enlisted to aid Nast in his sartorial quest.
