Yung Simmie Returns With Psychoactive Visual for "PASSENGER"
The latest from the Miami rapper.
Miami-based underground artist Yung Simmie has had a quiet past couple years after releasing his 2017 project Big Smokey Vol. 1, sticking to various SoundCloud releases with no official new projects or hardy releases announced. However, just last week the artist gave us a taste of what his year has in store, dropping an impromptu music video for his LAWTHEPRODUCER-produced hard-hitter “PASSENGER.”
The banger delves deep into 808 basses and expertly utilized samples — with Yung Simmie rapping out an equally consummate verse and accompanying ad-libs that reference Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers. The new GFX-directed and edited visual is showcased in a hallucinatory manner, offering up sparse edits and cuts that help in depicting the innovative, psychoactive track.
Take a look at the video above, and let’s hope this is the beginning of a string of 2019 releases for the young artist.
