New 'Rocketman' Trailer Showcases Elton John's Meteoric Rise to Stardom
Giving off some serious ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ vibes.
Paramount has released a new trailer for its Elton John biopic Rocketman, with Taron Egerton playing the titular star and Dexter Fletcher (Eddie the Eagle) serving as director. The trailer showcases the electric rise of the star before he became the five-time Grammy-winning icon we idolize today.
We also see how the shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight adopted the moniker and style of Elton John. It looks like the biopic won’t be told as traditional as others have and more similar to the recently released Bohemian Rhapsody starring Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury. The film also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Richard Madden, and Gemma Jones (Bridget Jones’ Baby).
Rocketman hits theaters on May 31.
In other entertainment news, Chris Hemsworth is Hulk Hogan in the iconic wrestler’s upcoming Netflix biopic.
