The Official Trailer for 'Hobbs & Shaw' Has Arrived
An official look at the ‘Fast and the Furious’ spin-off.
After months of teasing, the official trailer for the Fast and the Furious spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw has arrived. The movie features Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs, Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw, and Idris Elba as the film’s villain, Brixton.
The film focuses in on two characters that were present in the action-packed Fast and Furious 6 and Furious 7 films, but this time it is less about racing cars, and more about espionage and military combat. Directed by David Leitch, also known for Deadpool 2 and John Wick, the movie looks to draw a distinct difference from the Fast and the Furious as the characters ultimately come from an entirely different background; coming from both the agent and spy world.
Leitch looks to keep elements of the past films in this spin-off, but is looking to develop the characters first, while keeping them “grounded” — hopefully allowing for Hobbs & Shaw to succeed as a franchise much like the Fast and the Furious.
