Dior Warms up to Summer 2019 With Oblique-Printed Accessories and Shoes
A contemporary take on the house’s historic branding.
Dior‘s Summer 2019 deliveries commence with a variety of accessories and footwear printed with the label’s historic Oblique logo, originally designed by Marc Bohan in 1967. For the upcoming season, it appears as an all-over print across shoes and bags crafted from Dior’s preferred Flanders tapestry canvas.
A backpack, several pouches and a male iteration of the French house’s signature saddle bag all sport adjustable straps, pebbled leather patches and weighty metal hardware — including 1017 ALYX 9SM‘s trademark rollercoaster buckles — to underline Dior’s luxurious craft. The brand’s historic roller bag is revived with a translucent mesh shell, offering a modern twist to the classic design via the tonal “Christian Dior”-branded strap.
Meanwhile, the street-friendly B23 sneaker and B24 runner sport slightly more stylized variations of the pattern. Initially a Japan-only release, the low-top B23 sneaker makes its debut with this seasonal release.
The Oblique-printed accessories and footwear are all available on Dior’s web store now, with a wide array of styles to choose from.
