UGG Drops Extra-Chunky Runners and More in Limited Military Collection
All shoes are crafted from military-grade ballistic nylon.
UGG‘s continuing push for streetwear relevance has yielded an exclusive range of military-indebted men’s shoes. Considering that the Southern California-based brand is consistently popular in Japan, it’s no surprise that the collection is exclusive to The Land of the Rising Sun.
Encompassing zippered boots, room shoes, sneakers and three beefy runners that bear more than a passing resemblance to the collaborative BAPE kicks, the MLT collection draws influence from militaria for its neutral color palette. Furthermore, the upper of each shoe features panels of military-grade ballistic nylon, the same type used on parachutes for America’s Air Force.
Both the Tasman slipper and Neumel Zip boot sport UGG’s classic Treadlite outsole for extra traction, with the former also boasting a comfy fleece insole. The Cali Low sneaker is perhaps the most conventional silhouette, recalling versatile tennis silhouettes, while the 805 X runner is arguably the most progressive of the bunch. Offered in three colors, the model fuses an upper of suede and nylon to a massive cushioned outsole, informed by grippy Vibram rubber.
The 805 X Runner is already available in Japan and China. It will be available on UGG.com in May of 2019. However, the rest of the MLT collection is now out on UGG.com.
