New ‘Detective Pikachu’ Trailer Showcases a Lickitung
A first live-action look at the normal type Pokémon.
As Pokémon fans continue to patiently wait for the arrival of Detective Pikachu to hit theaters, Warner Bros. Pictures has just shared a new trailer spot featuring a first glimpse at Lickitung.
The normal type Pokémon is seen for a quick moment during the 30 second clip, which is also filled with a few new scenes not featured in the film’s first trailer released in mid-November of last year. Along with a peek at the Lickitung, Pikachu humorously throws down a bit of Spanish whist calling it French; the clip also gives fans an extended look Mr. Mime interrogation scene.
Detective Pikachu, based on the Nintendo 3DS title of the same name, will center around 21-year-old Tim Goodman played by Justice Smith as he searches for his missing father. Along the way he stumbles upon a talking Pikachu, voiced by Ryan Reynolds, and together they face the perilous journey together.
Detective Pikachu marks the first non-anime Pokémon film of the franchise. Look for the live-action film to land in theaters on May 10.
