Capcom has struck gold with its remake of Resident Evil 2, injecting just enough fan service that harkens back to the original game and new material to keep veterans on their toes. The first piece of DLC for the title comes in the form of “The Ghost Survivors,” which showcases a “what if” scenario for three pre-existing RE2 characters trying to escape the post-apocalyptic nightmare that is Raccoon City.

There are three stories called “Forgotten Soldier,” “Runaway” and “No Time To Mourn.” Each feature campaigns for the gun store owner Robert Kendo, the mayor’s daughter Katherine Warren, and a special forces agent known only as Ghost, respectively. Each will also have unique obstacles to overcome as well. Kendo must combat poisonous mutants, Warren’s story features additional mutations, and Ghost must kill specially armored zombies.

Check out the visuals above, and if you’re an owner of Resident Evil 2, download “The Ghost Survivors” DLC for free now.
