ASICS & Hasbro Deliver "Storm Shadow" & "Snake Eyes" GEL-Lyte IIIs for 'G.I. Joe' Collection

At the beginning of this week, ASICS dug into its archives to re-introduce a GEL-Kayano 5.1 in a special OG colorway. Now, the popular brand is teaming up with Hasbro for a collaborative collection that takes its primary inspirational cues from the iconic ’80s animated series G.I. Joe. Specifically, this lineup takes the GEL-Lyte III silhouette and reworks it for two new designs influenced by a pair of G.I. Joe‘s most recognizable characters, Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. Besides the footwear offerings, ASICS and Hasbro are also serving up G.I. Joe-themed New Era hats and other accessories.
For ASICS’ “Storm Shadow” GEL-Lyte III, the two companies go for a mostly-white upper with red and grey detailing; Storm Shadow artwork also adorns select sections of the interior, as well as the packaging. Regarding the “Snake Eyes” iteration of the ASICS GEL-Lyte III, the silhouette has been given a black leather upper with white, grey and red detailing. For the bottom of the “Snake Eyes” sneaker, ASICS has chosen to employ a dotted midsole and a translucent outsole. Rounding out the presentation of the “Storm Shadow” and “Snake Eyes” GEL-Lyte IIIs: red Cobra symbols on each individual shoe’s heels.
With the new GEL-Lyte III models used as the centerpiece of the new G.I Joe-inspired collection, ASICS and Hasbro complement the footwear portion of the drop with a trio of similarly-themed New Era caps — available in black and white colorways, both of which carry red detailing — and a new Hex utility bag.
