Ariana Grande's "7 Rings" Gets a 2 Chainz Remix
With a Parental Advisory label in Japanese.
Ariana Grande‘s “7 Rings” has unarguably become a pop-culture phenomenon. From “Small Charcoal Grill” to “Japanese BBQ Finger,” Grande’s thank u to all the fans is a “7 Rings” remix, teaming up with none other than 2 Chainz.
Ariana’s flow in “7 Rings” has been compared to, 2 Chainz’s 2011 hit “Spend It” (amongst a number of others). Just like the original, the Julie Andrews “My Favorite Things” rhythm remains, even when 2 Chainz adds his two cents.
Coming in slowly with his obligatory ad-libs, the Georgia rapper matches Grande’s confident boasts such as, “I don’t mean to brag, but I be like, “Put it in the bag,”. 2 Chainz goes on to add, “ It’s mine, invested; I spend it on necklace, I got the cash if I don’t get credit,” addressing his notorious collection of jewellery and flexing that.
2 Chainz’s bars hit hard against a piano beat synthesised and pitched higher than the original track, and offers a welcomed contrast to Ariana Grande’s softer vocals.
In addition to squashing any bad blood between the two stars by collaborating on a remix, the single’s album cover is a pink trap house – not only addressing the music video similarities but also mimicking 2 Chainz’s album Pretty Girls Like Trap Music.
The big-flex track is available on Spotify and Apple Music now.
In case you missed it, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are giving fans a very good reason to turn vegan.
