adidas' ZX4000 4D "Onix" Gets Official Release Date (UPDATE)

Update: Since getting a closer look at the upcoming “Onix” colorway of adidas’ ZX4000 4D in February, the sneaker has officially gotten a release date.

February 25, 2019: After Instagram account @yankeekicks shared a peek at adidas‘ dark-hued colorway of its ZX4000 4D in September, more images have surfaced that offer a closer look at the new silhouette. Dubbed “Black Onix,” the gray and black shoe is splashed with pink and green details that brighten up the ash-colored style.

The upper of the upcoming ZX4000 4D sneaker features the brand’s signature Primeknit material and its usual pieced-together aesthetic, including contrasting swatches of gray that help provide a layered look. Charcoal-colored pieces along the toe box and heel counter are affixed with exposed stitching, adding to the patchwork-like composition. An infrared tongue provides a vivid pink contrast against the smoky-inspired mesh and suede elements, while the footwear’s trademark 4D sole in Ash Green adds its own luminous touch.
