Universal Works Presents Rich Elevated Staples for FW19
Think velvet trousers, woolen layering & oversized sweaters.
Universal Works has showcased its seasonal line-up of contemporary classics in its Fall/Winter 2019 lookbook. Marking not just the British label’s signature look but also its tenth anniversary, Universal Works for FW19 presents yet another reinterpretation of staples made with an eye for today’s cuts, colors and styles.
FW19 was inspired by Aesop’s fable of the Hare and the Tortoise — a tale of a calm and considered approach — and as a result, delivers looks that reflect the sports-forward yet traditional nature of the label. Notable pieces include the Coach jacket made from Flight Nylon in a classic blue-and-gold colorway proudly wearing the phrase “Universal Works Sports & Social Club” on the rear, as well as the selection of oversized sweatshirts that are delivered in rich fall-ready colors including green, muted yellow and off-white.
Elevated traditional pieces come in the form of velvet Fatigue pants, a melton Bakers jacket, the Mowbray wool bomber jacket, a cozy Mountain Fleece Lancaster jacket and a bold jacquard-knit Batton Stripe crewneck sweater. A range of bucket hats, larger outerwear such as a Labour jacket and Reversible Parka, as well as a Herringbone two-piece, round out Universal Works’ FW19 offering.
