Tokyo Label soe Delivers Refined Cuts and Bold Imagery for SS20
Bold seasonal layers.
Tokyo-based label soe has returned with its SS20 lineup. Set in an industrial studio, the imagery highlights a series of light mid-layers that have been refined with clean cuts and bold graphics.
This season’s designs are rooted in a variety of inspirations, spanning garments like a collegiate-style blazer or a grungy long-coat scrawled with scribbles and graffiti tags. Besides some vivid prints seen in the collection, featured color palettes range all the way from light violet and brown hazelnut to indigo and more muted monochromatic shades. One noteworthy garment is a white parka, accented with vibrant paint splatters sporadically placed at the lower half of the jacket, around the hem and lower sleeve cuffs. The piece comes with adjustable drawstrings at the hood and waist, finished off by a large chest pocket on the left.
Other highlights like the black flamingo print short-sleeve button-up and pin-stripe blazer present an elevated take on ’50s silhouettes, while pieces like the brown nylon coach jacket and grunge-inspired graffiti pants suggest a more contemporary perspective. Rounding up the collection are knit crewnecks, elongated hoodies, denim shirts, khaki trousers and puffer vests, demonstrating the label’s affinity for layer-friendly styles.
