Watch Maxo's Sentimental "Strongside" Video
From the rapper’s debut album, ‘Lil Big Man.’
Los Angeles-bred rapper Maxo has recently released the music video for his introspective “Strongside” record. Maxo taps into his sentimental side while hanging out at the bowling alley and park with his love interest, played by Liv.e, letting his pensive lyrics set the moody tone.
“Strongside” hails from the Def Jam artist’s debut album, Lil Big Man, which was released in March. The visual was directed by Devlin Claro-Resetar and is shot in a series of black and white scenes. It follows behind videos for Maxo’s tracks “Time” and “In My Penny’s,” both of which are also from the rapper’s latest project.
“I’m not trying to be portrayed as something I’m not,” Maxo explained of his music. “I’m me. I’m regular people. I just want to speak for people who are themselves.”
On becoming an artist, the 23-year-old stated: “It was for very therapeutic reasons. I just needed healing. [My brother] is why I started rapping.”
