Firmament Berlin Reflects on Information Overload in Vans Vault "Modern Life" Pack
Three premium skate sneakers elevated with tabloid-style graphics.
Vans’ Epoch Sport LX continues to see covetable revisions, as Berlin’s Firmament remixes the silhouette alongside two other classic Vans models for the “Modern Life” pack. Influenced by contemporary society’s constant crush of information, the boutique added tabloid-style imagery to the sneakers as a reflection of chaotic communication.
The Epoch Sport, Authentic and Slip-On receive distinctive makeovers in line with the theme, yielding monochrome colorways upgraded with a splash of stark red that both adds contrast and relates to the newsprint inspiration. Compared to its counterparts, the Epoch is the most understated of the group, sporting co-branding on the lateral side towards the bottom rear of the upper, with printed laces tying the shoe in with the other two.
Meanwhile, both the Slip-On and Authentic boast all-over prints — tonal on the former and contrasting on the latter — on the premium canvas uppers, realized with verbiage like “IN THE MODERN WORLD,” “KILLERS OF THE DREAM,” “CONSPIRACY” and “THE NATURE OF THE UNIVERSE” alongside matching Firmament branding.
Each laced sneaker comes with bold red-tinged options, finished with Firmament-branded lace tips, anchored by white midsoles and Vans’ preferred ComfyCush insoles. The sneaker box ties the pack together, appropriately executed in a matching newspaper print with red accents.
The trio of exclusive Vans Vault models is exclusively available on Firmament’s web store and in-store alongside complementary “CRACK DOWN ON POWER” apparel. European Vans Vault retailers will offer the shoes on December 6.
Vans isn’t slowing its roll-out of headline-worthy collaborations, recently dropping a set of shoes bolstered by Damien Hirst and a Lampin exclusive to COMME des GARÇONS’ CDG sub-label.
