Brodinski's Visual for "Master Section" Ft. Zelooperz Is a Cinematic Fever Dream
A highlight from his recent ‘Evil World’ album.
Returning from the release of his riotous album, Evil World, Parisian beatsmith Brodinski has released a fever dream-like visual for project highlight “Master Section” ft. Bruiser Brigade member Zelooperz. The track itself, the last on the project, remains chock full of Brodi’s signature blend of French electro and trap — rubbery analog basslines ride alongside snappy percussion and psychedelic fills, offering Zelooperz an eclectic bedrock to unleash his high-pitched delivery.
Speaking to HYPEBEAST, Brodinski shared a bit about how the track was formulated:
I met Zelooperz in Detroit while I was there for a gig at the end of 2018, his DJ And friend Skywalker invited me to their house and we kicked it that day! We went back & forth over email, I sent some beats and one day I received “Master Section”…I reworked & tweaked the beat while in Montreal last March with the help of my collaborator Max Antoine (who also worked on several other tracks on Evil World) and we came up with this final version. The song has this party/club vibe that we wanted to keep and I feel like it brings Zelooperz vocals to a different level.
For the Matilda Finn-directed visual, inspired by the various nightclub scenes of classic hip-hop film Belly, a tweaked-out narcissistic can be seen overlooking club-goers from the VIP section. As he walks through the dimly-lit the dancefloor accompanied by an entourage of security, the man encounters an individual who abruptly ends his psychedelic-fueled vision of reality.
