Billie Eilish Shares Self-Directed Music Video for “xanny”
A ballad about being drug-free.
Billie Eilish is ending 2019 on a high. From multiple GRAMMY nominations to being named Apple Music’s Artist of the Year, Billie Eilish now makes her directorial debut with the official music video for “xanny.”
“xanny,” which is featured off her hit album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, is a ballad about Eilish’s choice to be drug-free. In the visuals posted above, the singer/songwriter is seen sitting on a bench in a padded cell as hands are seen moving into frame to put out their cigarettes. “I’m in their second hand smoke, still just drinking canned coke, I don’t need a xanny to feel better,” she sings. “They’re nothing but unstable, bring ashtrays to the table, and that’s about the only thing they share.” And for the fashion lovers out there, the singer is sporting a The Elder Statesman Highland Turtleneck and Super Duper Jogger. “I’m very excited to share my directorial debut,” Eilish shared on social media. “Visuals are so important to me, and I’m very proud to be in a place where I can present my creative vision exactly as I want it. Thank you to everyone who has put their trust in me.”
Up next for the 17-year-old musician is a 2020 world arena tour, which kicks off in March. For more music-related news, Teyana Taylor shares Kanye West-produced single “We Got Love.”
