Woolrich Celebrates Beams Plus' 20th Anniversary With Hunt-Inspired Capsule Collection
Featuring check-patterned jackets, vests and caps.
For the second half of the year, Woolrich has been busy collaborating with a number of streetwear brands and dropping its own sustainable Fall/Winter 2019 collection. After teaming up with Aimé Leon Dore for fall-themed pieces and Stüssy for a heavyweight plaid work shirt, the brand is now celebrating Japanese retailer Beams Plus’ 20th anniversary with a hunt-inspired collection.
Designed by Daiki Suzuki, the capsule collection utilizes Woolrich’s rich archive of American apparel heritage — which goes back to the early 1900s — to merge big game hunting products with an outdoor outerwear aesthetic. Suzuki reinterprets Woolrich’s check pattern of the original big game hunting product line to create a “Blackwatch” pattern. Drawing from varsity references and traditional Americana, the all-over checkered print informs jackets, vests and caps.
Made with a 100% made-in-USA wool shell, the “Big Game Jacket” incorporates traditional hunt-wear details while sporting a button-through front, two upper yoke-top stag jacket pockets and a collar loop for fastening. A complementary vest features a back belt for an adjustable fit, four patch pockets and black trimming. The warmest coat of the capsule, the “Mackinaw,” is insulated with Thermore and showcases faux fur detailing on the collar, cuffs and inner pockets. Available in a relaxed fit, the double-breasted coat is finished with a stylish belt and cuff regulations. A hunt-cap with ear flaps that secure beneath the chin rounds off the looks.
The Beams Plus x Woolrich capsule collection is available to purchase now, from $295 to $1,600 USD, on Woolrich’s website, at its New York City and Milan stores, and at select retailers worldwide.
