With a holiday week upon us, Nike presents a corduroy-covered pack of Air Max silhouettes that’s made up of two Air Max 97s and two Air Max 98s. Colorful in nature, meticulous in construction and bold in figure, the pack brings back the pastel accents and textured uppers popularized by Sean Wotherspoon‘s hybrid Air Max 1/97, but flips the script just enough to create a new look.

First up are the streamlined duo of Air Max 97s: “Desert Sand” and “Light Blue.” Each presents a pastel palette that’s accented with earthy tan and brownish-grey hues, but applies it in a different fashion. The “Desert Sand” uses a punchy pink for the base and the aforementioned tans/greys for accents on the overlays, while the “Light Blue” uses earth tones for the base and a soft powder blue hue for accents on the mudguard. Each weaves more colorful detail into the tongue, heel tabs and small midfoot Swoosh. Both looks are completed by a midsole that matches the mudguard, encasing the full-foot Air Max cushioning unit.

Meanwhile, the Air Max 98 uses its more bulky, blocky upper to provide a look that teeters in between urban lifestyle and the rugged backcountry ethos of Nike ACG. The “Thunder Grey” equips a rich blue base with earthy accents, using a pink tongue and minty green Swooshes for contrast. The “Amber Rise” is more autumnal, using a heavy dose of pastel oranges and pinks to bring rustic flair to its tan base layer. Dark EVA foam midsoles with corresponding Air Max units wrap things up for both pairs.

The Nike Sportswear “Corduroy” pack will release on Nike SNKRS Japan come November 30. The MSRP is set at ¥20,900 (approximately $192 USD) for each pair.

Elsewhere in the world of Nike, the brand is reportedly teaming with Chitose Abe‘s sacai for a PEG Vaporfly SP collaboration.
