Ulysse Nardin and Devialet Come Together For an Innovative Sound-Engineered Timepiece
Reaching up to 85 decibels.

French audio company Devialet has combined its expertise in sound engineering with Swiss luxury watchmaker Ulysse Nardin‘s impeccable craftsmanship to create a new Classico Hourstriker watch. This watch, as stated from Ulysse Nardin, is an “unparalleled striking watch in the watchmaking industry” thanks to its revolutionary acoustic performance and sound quality.
The watch itself is constructed with a 43mm brushed titanium case paired with an anthracite dial featuring a skeletonized center that pays homage to the protective cage found on Devialet’s Phantom speakers. Beneath this patterning sits a tinted sapphire crystal providing the wearer with a view into the movement’s baseplate, whilst also revealing a rose gold indicator at 3 o’clock when the striking mechanism is on, which disappears once it’s turned off.
Sound-wise, the timepiece features eight perforations on the caseback, allowing the in-house UN-610 self-winding Hourstriker movement to produce up to 85 decibels at 100 mm. The sound is further amplified via the titanium casing, producing what the Swiss watchmaker calls “an unrivaled level of sound in the world of watchmaking.”
Limited to only 85 examples, the Devialet and Ulysse Nardin Classico Hourstriker Phantom is now available at select retailers for Fr. 72,500 CHF (roughly $72,500 USD). Head over to the brand’s site to learn more now.
Elsewhere in watches, IWC Schaffhausen is celebrating the 80th anniversary of Antoine de Saint Exupéry‘s transatlantic flight with a special edition Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Chronograph Edition “80 Years Flight to New York.”
