Rexx Life Raj Introduces 'Father Figure 3' Album with New Single "Falling"
“This song was a sleeper that almost didn’t make the album.”
Nearly three months after unveiling his three-song En Route EP, Rexx Life Raj is revealing plans for his next major studio project and serving up its lead single. Specifically, the northern California crooner will be dropping an album titled Father Figure 3: Somewhere Out There on November 11. For our first taste and preview of Father Figure 3, Rexx Life Raj is sharing a Garza-produced Russ collaboration known as “Falling.”
“This song was a sleeper that almost didn’t make the album because sometimes I’m an idiot and make shitty decisions,” Rexx Life Raj tells us, revealing the back-story behind “Falling.” “I went a while without playing it and it randomly came on and I was like ‘bruh.. this is one of them ones.’ Shoutout Russ for sliding. That’s that 1, 2 combo that Mike Tyson used to use before he either knocked you out or bit a portion of your ear off. This is one of my versions of a love song. Please do lover things when it comes on.”
“My whole thing with music when I put it out, is I want it to have staying power,” Rexx Life Raj previously explained to us. “I want my shit to be around for a minute, so I’ll be really invested in my records, because so many songs are here and gone hella fast … I’m just creating in a space where I f*ck with this beat because I like this beat and not only because others f*ck with it.”
You can check out Rexx Life Raj’s new single “Falling” above, while his forthcoming studio album Father Figure 3: Somewhere Out There is scheduled to see release on November 11. Besides Russ, that LP will also contain contributions from Kehlani, Bas, Kenny Beats, Sango and Jay Prince.
