Rising Artist Rema Drops 'Bad Commando' EP
The latest music from the 19-year-old Nigerian singer and rapper.
After recently being featured on Barack Obama’s 2019 Summer Playlist, Rema released his new EP, Bad Commando, today.
Featuring four new tracks, Bad Commando follows the release of Rema’s self-titled EP, which included hit singles “Dumbei” and “Ironman,” and Rema Freestyle EP that dropped this summer. Credited as “leading the next generation of Nigerian pop,” Rema mixes afrobeats with his soft vocals to create a unique and sensational sound. Rema told Pitchfork, “My sound is for the young people of my generation and the older people who want to feel young again. I really want to take the Nigerian flag over all the world.”
After debuting his EP in March, it spent more than a month as No. 1 on Nigeria’s Apple Music charts, with all four tracks charting in the top 5. The 19-year old singer and rapper will be in London to perform at the Boiler Room Festival next week.
