Overkill and adidas Team up for ZX8000 "No Walls Needed" Pack
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Berlin Wall’s fall.

Berlin-based boutique Overkill and adidas Originals have teamed up for a two-shoe adidas ZX8000 pack dubbed “No Walls Needed,” nodding to the 30-year anniversary of the Berlin Wall’s destruction. The reunion of Germany’s capital city is a joyous moment in history, and the collaborative partners are celebrating the feeling of unity it brought by packing both designs full of meaningful details and two-sided styles.
The first pair equips a Gucci-esque mixture of red and green tones on the lateral side, and an adidas EQT-style combo of purple and blue accents on the medial side. Even the midsole is dual-toned, splitting space between a vibrant neon and a classic grey. All the bright accents are held together by a simple grey and cream mesh/suede base.
The second pair is two-tone as well, but uses different colors for its embellishments. The lateral showcases black and grey accents, as well as a vibrant blue midsole. The medial half then goes full summer on its upper with volt and hot pink pops, cooled down with a grey midsole. Special packaging finalizes the offerings.
Much like Overkill’s ZX10000C “I Can If I Want” pack, the shoes can be mixed and matched to the wearer’s preference. Each offers a different symbol on its heel, representing the pack’s four guiding principles of equality, individuality, freedom and unity. Combined, they hammer home the moniker — and the message — behind the product: that no walls are needed.
The Overkill x adidas Originals ZX 8000 “No Walls Needed” pack will release exclusively in Overkill’s Berlin location on November 2, and is limited to 1989 pairs. Retail is set at €260 EUR (approx. $288 USD). Each customer who purchases a pair at the in-store event will also receive €100 EUR “welcome money,” a nod to the cash gift given by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany to visitors from the German Democratic Republic after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
In other adidas news, the brand has linked up with Star Wars for an extensive lightsaber-inspired collection.
