Mizuno has partnered with Patta to relaunch the Mondo Control OG, a 1990s silhouette taken from the Japanese label’s running archive. The announcement comes after Mizuno worked with La MJC earlier this year to release two monochromatic versions of the sneaker.
The relaunched version will feature the same Dynamic Foot Counter as the 1995 original. The main technological advancement for this sneaker, the Dynamic Foot Counter is a stabilizer that reaches right to the middle of the shoe and was the basis for Mizuno’s Wave Technology.
The Mondo Control OG features a half bootie design, and is constructed from open mesh as the base as well as full grain leather on the toe and heel and high-quality suede on the lateral support. Paying tribute to the original release, the relaunched sneaker will come in a color palette of white with tonal blue details.
Take a look at the Mondo Control OG in the above lookbook, and expect the sneaker to release exclusively at Patta stores in London, Amsterdam and Milan on October 4. It will then release via select stockists worldwide on October 11.
