German camera maker Leica and SC Asset are celebrating the Thai real estate company’s 17th anniversary with a new limited-edition camera. The two imprints have come together for the first time to create the Leica M10-P “SC Asset – 17 Years of Passion,” a feat of Leica’s signature premium craftsmanship that pays homage to SC Asset’s longstanding commitment to high quality homes.
The M10-P “SC Asset” adopts the signature features of the Leica model and reimagines its design with thoughtful details. The collaboration maintains a vintage feel across the body of the camera, while the lens, lens hood and other elements are made of pure brass. With time and use, the brass will oxidize and ultimately take on a distinct patina that gives off an older, more precious appearance. Such materiality encourages users to capture memories in a way that makes the camera truly unique to them. The concept parallels SC Asset’s philosophy of developing homes that are designed to only get better with time and use.
Furthering the appeal of the limited-edition offering, the camera body is wrapped in charcoal green leather. Engravings on the top of the camera reflect SC Asset’s isometric and perspective drawings used in architecture while the Leica name, limited number and serial number appear inside the precise drawings. The standard red alignment dot is replaced with a white one on the lens, and a vintage lens hood rounds out the rare offering.
The camera touts Leica’s signature and meticulous engineering and technology as seen in the M10-P model. The rangefinder camera features a 24-megapixel full frame CMOS sensor, guaranteeing the camera maker’s signature exceptional image quality. Other notable features include an ISO range of 100-50,000, the legendary combined viewfinder and rangefinder at 100% coverage and 0.73x magnification and a three-inch touchscreen LCD. The M10-P is also known for what is likely to be the quietest shutter on the market.
The Leica M10-P “SC Asset – 17 Years of Passion” is limited to just 30 pieces. It’s available now at Leica’s Bangkok store. Head to SC Asset’s website for more information.
