Canon's IVY REC Is a Mini Carabiner Camera
The clippable device is both waterproof and shockproof.


After hitting its goal from a crowdfunding campaign over the summer, Canon has announced that its mini IVY REC camera is ready for mass production. The portable gadget is billed as being waterproof, wireless and shockproof, and best of all, designed to be clippable. Additional specs include a 13-megapixel 1/3-inch CMOS sensor in a fixed-focus lens, the ability to record HD video at 1080p up to 60 fps, plus Bluetooth connectivity and Wi-Fi-enabled capability that can sync to a mobile app. The camera also includes a MicroSD card for storage and a 660mAh battery rechargeable through Micro USB.
The negative space on the device acts as the viewfinder, with five different settings that can be adjusted via the dial. The IVY REC is lightweight at just 90 grams and comes in four different colors: Stone, Dragonfruit, Riptide, Avocado.
Pre-orders are available at retailers like Best Buy where they are selling for $130 USD and will start shipping on Oct. 16.
