Theophilus London & Tame Impala Reconnect for New "Whiplash" Single
The official studio version has finally arrived.
Last October, Theophilus London and Tame Impala released a retro-minded video for “Only You.” Now, further supporting their collaborative efforts, the pairing serve up another new joint composition, “Whiplash.”
Notably, the studio version of “Whiplash” — like some of their other past collaborations — was originally premiered through Virgil Abloh’s Beats 1 show Televised Radio. The pop-leaning song was first given to fans as part of a July 2016 performance at a Boiler Room event in Brooklyn, but hasn’t been shared as a standalone, high-quality single until now.
“I’m at the Knick game, big chain, all my spender / Big, big smoke, I’m eating all y’all dinners,” Theophilus London raps on “Whiplash.” “Tell big Kev it’s gettin’ warm this winter / Nick balls, big rock, rock, I got winter.”
