Engineered Garments Channels the New Romantics for FW19
Layers of corduroy, velvet and leopard print.

New York’s Engineered Garments gets suited up for Fall/Winter 2019 with a selection of gear influenced by the New Romantics. The late ’70s British movement informed by New Wave and glam rock, the New Romantics wore wild suiting and playful patterns, stylistic cues that blend seamlessly into Engineered Garments’ signature deconstructed workwear.
With plaid vests and loose grey suits already a staple of Engineered Garments’ seasonal offerings, the new range continues expanding the brand’s adventurous looks with faux fur coats, quilted leather vests and Yankees-branded caps. Patchwork corduroy pants and Fair Isle-woven pullovers add visual interested to the muted color palette, with dot, plaid and desaturated floral patterns further elevating the bulky layers. Nothing makes an impression quite like leopard print, however, and FW19 has it in spades, with rich spots accenting a fur hat, large coat, reversible vest and more.
The new collection will arrive on NEPENTHES’ web store and EG stockists later this summer.
Meanwhile, Japanese colleague nonnative recently introduced its Spring/Summer 2019 lookbook.
