Higher Brothers Share "Gong Xi Fa Cai" for Chinese New Year
A trap fusion of Chinese ad-libs and hard-hitting drums.
Chinese rap quartet Higher Brothers come in strong with their latest track “Gong Xi Fa Cai,” a typically trap sound “wishing you get rich” upon the Lunar New Year.
Chinese New Year truly celebrates giving, and the Higher Brothers have delivered a track fit for any rap fan regardless of language barriers. Produced by Richie Souf, the man behind Higher Brothers and Famous Dex’s hit track “Made In China”, the song contains all the recognisable ingredients for a trap song you’ll have on loop. Frequent Migos-esque ad-libs in both English and Chinese are paired with a trap fusion of Chinese drums and bi-lingual bars, making the song instantly likeable.
With their second studio album, Five Stars, set to release this February 22, expect to hear a number of key North American voices add their vocals to some equally perfected tracks very soon. Take a listen to “Gong Xi Fa Cai” on both Spotify and Apple Music now.
