UPDATE: Chris Brown Released From Jail Following Arrest in Paris After Rape Allegations
This doesn’t look good.

Update: Chris Brown has been released from jail without charge in Paris on Tuesday evening, according to Daily Mail. Brown, along with two other people, was let go after a 24-year-old woman accused them of rape. Brown has publically denied the claims but the investigation is still ongoing.
Brown’s attorney, Raphael Chiche, previously told multiples outlets in a statement that they plan to sue for defamation, “Chris Brown is free. No lawsuits were filed against him. He vigorously challenges the charges against him. A complaint for slanderous denunciation will be filed with the Public Prosecutor of Paris. The charges against Chris Brown have not been dropped and investigations are still going on but Chris Brown has not been sued by Prosecution.”
Original Story: Chris Brown, his bodyguard and another associate are being held in Paris after a woman filed a rape complaint, reports the Associated Press. French officials said Tuesday (Jan. 22) that the 29-year-old singer was detained Monday (Jan. 21) on potential charges of aggravated rape and drug infractions and has been in custody ever since. investigators have two more days to decide whether to release him or file preliminary charges.
The woman with the allegations claimed she met Brown and his friends overnight Jan. 15-16 at the club Le Crystal in the 8th arrondissement near the Champs-Elysees, eventually moving to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
The detention was first reported by French gossip magazine Closer. A rep from Chris Brown’s team had no comment on the report at press time.
This is the latest legal trouble of Chris Brown. Most recently, Chris Brown was being investigated for illegally owning a pet monkey. Brown is scheduled to be arraigned for the pet case on Feb. 6. If convicted, Brown could face up to 6 months in jail.
Tuesday afternoon, Chris Brown denied the allegations in a statement via his Instagram. “I WANNA MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR…… THIS IS FALSE AND A WHOLE LOT OF CAP,” Brown wrote, adding “FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MY FAMILY THIS IS SO DISPRESPECTFUL [sic] AND IS AGAINST MY CHARACTER AND MORALS!!!!!”
