Y-3's Latest Runner 4D Gets a Splashy Red Makeover
In addition to new technical details.
After releasing an all-black colorway last September, Y-3 returns for Spring/Summer 2019 with the latest installment of its technology-enhanced Runner 4D. This third iteration not only takes on a bright new color, but also advances the technical elements of the shoe.
Coated in red, the sneaker’s upper features a double-layer knit fabrication for enhanced stability, while the woven inner layer is comprised of Yohji Yamamoto branding and adidas’ Three Stripes logo. To further innovate the style, the two layers are connected by a lightweight yet durable tensile cording that simultaneously acts as the shoe’s lacing system. The hallmark FUTURECRAFT 4D system remains in tact at the midsole in its signature light green hue.
Retailing for $600 USD, the Y-3 Runner 4D “Red” releases on January 31 exclusively at Y-3 stores and y-3.com.
Yamamoto and adidas’ collaborative line reaches back over fifteen years since its inception in 2003. See how the designer played up that history at his Fall/Winter 2019 show last week.
