Apple AirPods 2 Rumored to Feature "Hey, Siri" Function
Adding to rumors of an upcoming release.
Shortly after Apple released the first beta of iOS 12.2 to developers, reports are noting some functions hidden to public found on the early versions.
One hidden element is a setup screen that’s assumed to be developed to accompany the release of the rumored next generation of AirPods. The screen uncovered by a group of tech-savvy Apple fans prompts user to set up the “Hey, Siri” function on the iPhone and AirPods. Setting up of the function will ensure that Siri on iPhone and the wireless earphones will only respond to the user’s voice.
If info is correct, the AirPods 2 will move beyond some of the tap functionality that the debut iteration was centered around. The hidden inclusion of the setup screen to the first beta of iOS 12.2 adds more fuel to rumors hinting that Apple is planning to release the new AirPods very soon.
