UPDATE: SEGA Is Releasing All Its Mega Drive Retro Classics on Nintendo Switch
Play your Sega Genesis classics on a Nintendo system.
UPDATE: SEGA’s popular classic games collection will be ported to the Nintendo Switch, as announced at the Tokyo Game Show. The aptly-named Sega Genesis Classics bundle will be priced at $29.99 USD, with places like GameStop already accepting pre-orders. Grab the full port when it hits the system on December 7, but for now, check the video above and share your thoughts.
SEGA’s latest venture is a compilation of the greatest Mega Drive games. The company announced the news recently on Twitter in a now-deleted message which caught the eyes of fans, who eventually found the trailer. Despite the deleted tweet there’s already a trailer for the game, which showcases that Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage, Altered Beast, Shinobi and several other retro games will make an appearance.
This isn’t the first time the company has launched a retro release, with a similar compilation being available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. As of yet there’s no firm list of the games available but the company has confirmed that there will be over 50 titles on the disc. SEGA Mega Drive Classics will be available on May 29 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and has its own mini-site where you can sign up for a newsletter.
You can watch the trailer for it below and, in other gaming news, Drake and Travis Scott took to Twitch to play Fortnite.
