Italian house Prada followed the theme of its Spring/Summer 2019 menswear show with a similarly designed catwalk installation for the womenswear show. The venue was transformed by Rem Koolhaas‘ AMO studio, with a geographic coordinate layout comprised of re-editions of 1960s inflatable stools.

As well as the architectural installation, the show also featured pieces designed by three leading female architects. As the second installment of the “Prada Invites” series, Kazuyo Sejima, Elizabeth Diller and Cini Boeri all worked with the Italian label to create designs from the classic Prada Nylon. “Prada Invites” is intended to look at the intersectionality of design, leading to conversations and collaborations between different design disciplines.

Sejima designed two bags — the “long bag” and the “curved bag” — which can be used as multipocket travel bags, and are intended to hang on the wall or be used as a neck pillow respectively. Elsewhere, Diller reworked the nylon garment bag into a raincoat and yoke-style bag, while Boeri designed a messenger style bag with removable sections.

Prada also recently brought back its Linea Rossa line.
