An Exclusive Look at Off-White™’s Nike-Centric SS19 Fitting Session
An exclusive look at Virgil Abloh’s latest collaborative gear.
Virgil Abloh‘s Off-White™ Spring/Summer 2019 womenswear show already yielded an early look at a new collaborative Vapor Street sneaker model, eventually the Spring/Summer 2019 clothing in action on the runway showcasing a bevy of new Nike gear. Just before the show, we went backstage to take an exclusive look at the Off-White™ SS19 fitting session before the collection’s runway debut.
Behind-the-scenes, Virgil Abloh was joined by supermodel Bella Hadid and high jumper Cecilia Yeung — Nike‘s newest athlete from Hong Kong and the only Asian female athlete to walk the Off-White™ show. Plenty of Nike-branded and co-designed items were on hand, fusing athletic silhouettes with Abloh’s signature street-informed fashion codes. What resulted were progressive pieces like the neon yellow snakeskin print biker jacket and running shorts set, and Hadid’s revealing cross-branded top. Elsewhere, patterned heels and new collaborative running sneakers littered the dressing room.
