LEGO Announces a Fully Functioning Wind Turbine Set with Energy Company Vestas
It’s even made with LEGO bricks that are sustainably sourced.

LEGO has launched a fully functional wind turbine set complete with 826 pieces that stack 3-feet off the ground. Not only is the idea eco-friendly, the Vestas Wind Turbine features bricks created from sustainably-sourced plastic made with plants. Its wind turbine blades are adjustable and feature aircraft warning lights and automate functions.
Besides the structure, the base highlights a miniature red cottage with a functional porch light alongside some green hills and small landscape of trees. The product was announced on NYC’s Climate Week and was made in partnership with the sustainable energy company Vestas. Originally developed in 2008 specifically for Vestas, the elements used to create this product was never released to the public.
However, now the company plans to offer the set for sale through its LEGO stores and online shop starting November 23 and retail for $199.99 USD.
In other news, Aesop recently released its first-ever design item.
