Mick Jenkins Debuts Politically-Minded New Single, "Elephant in the Room."
“I’m learning that I tell the truth and they gon’ do me like Kaepernick.”
Mick Jenkins is on a roll right now; following the back-to-back releases of the Kaytranada-produced “What Am I To Do?” and “Bruce Banner,” the Chicago talent returns with “Elephant in the Room.”
Notably, “Elephant in the Room” features Mick Jenkins’ agile flows over left-of-center, tripped-out production cooked up by THEMpeople and Martin Sky. Mick Jenkins’ latest effort is being released to help his forthcoming studio project, Bruce Banner.
“I’m learning that I tell the truth and they gon do me like Kaepernick / Got it burning up / Just some Hebrew boys thrown in the Furnace you can turn it up,” Jenkins spits. “Then we multiply step out draped in / Decadence black excellence / Edified exercised then eat my vegetables / If food for thought was vegetables / Then you gotta know it be pesticides / Revolution won’t be televised / They want all my n*ggas pacified paralyzed.”
